Relieve Sinus Headaches

Sinus headaches and sinusitis is a major problem especially during humid climates. It can be caused due to seasonal infections or can run in families. Thankfully, there are a number of home remedies available to control this problem without popping up pills. Few of them are listed below:

GARLIC:

Garlic is an excellent way to ward off bacterial infections flourishing in your sinuses. Its pungent smell can help to clear stuffy nose. Boil some water and add some crushed garlic cloves in it. Inhale the steam by covering with a towel. It instantly relieves sinuses.

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR:

Apple cider vinegar is used broadly as it has so many health benefits. It can reduce sinus headaches as well. Mix some apple cider vinegar and honey in lukewarm water and drink it 2-3 times a day to get rid of pain and discomfort.

LEMON BALM:

Lemon balm leaves can be added in boiling water and filtered. This liquid is used to gargle to cure sinus related problems. Lemon balm has soothing effect on sinuses and is also useful in toothache. It can also be used for aromatherapy.

TURMERIC:

Turmeric is an excellent anti-inflammatory agent and is very efficient in reducing pain. Adding it in your food and milk and consuming it on a regular basis may give log term benefits.

EUCALYPTUS OIL:

Inhaling eucalyptus oil is very beneficial to nasal and sinus cavity. It reduces occurrence of infection and soothes pain. Put few drops of eucalyptus oil in your handkerchief and inhale it. You can also put some drops on your pillow at night.

TOMATO:

Tomato juice or soup can do miracles to your inflamed and irritable mucous membrane and combat stuffy nose. Homemade tomato juice is boiled and consumed warm.

GINGER:

Ginger is another most common remedy used in households to relieve pain, cold, and stuffy nose. It can be consumed as tea or added in food to draw benefits from it. Ginger tea can be consumed 3-4 times a day.

Try to keep your home free from dust and allergens to keep sinus problems at bay. Also consume adequate amount of water, nutrition and vitamins to keep your immunity at its best.
