The project is borne out of the vision of Dr. Ashok Jain, Chairman and Managing Director of the Indus Westside Hospital Project at Jnana Bharathy Layout, Bangalore for providing cost effective, high quality healthcare to the local population in Bangalore and to serve as hub for patients from India and abroad.
Dr. Jain is an American Board Certified Pediatrician with 12 years of pediatric experience and a total of 15 years of clinical experience from 2 continents. He also has 5 years of senior management experience in Healthcare and Hospital industry. Dr. Jain graduated from Kasturba Medical College in 1993. He did his residency in Pediatrics at New York Medical College/Westchester County Medical Center in Valhalla, NY from 1995-1998 and served as a Chief Resident in Pediatrics at Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago, IL in 1998-1999. Subsequently he joined Northwestern University / Childrens memorial hospital as Pediatric Cardiology Fellow in July 1999. He is currently credentialed as an Attending Physician for Pediatrics, Pediatric Intensive Care, and Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Cape Fear Valley Health Care System, Fayetteville, NC. He is also credentialed for performing Pediatric Flexible Bronchoscopy. He is certified to provide Advanced Trauma Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Neonatal Advanced Life Support and is a certified PALS Instructor. He is well known to Pediatrics, Family Practice and Emergency Medicine Healthcare providers of Cumberland and its neighboring counties in North Carolina. Dr. Jain is currently licensed to practice medicine in the states of North Carolina, USA and Karnataka, India.Dr. Jain currently has 2 group practices in USA and has headed many businesses. He has served as faculty for many universities in USA. He has received awards in USA and has been recognized by Academic and non academic organization for his services to the communities in USA and India. He relocated in May 2007 to Bangalore with his family to start Indus Westside Hospital project.
With nearly two decades of service and experience in eye care, Dr. Narpat Solanki, has been the inspiration for a panel of highly qualified and skilled eye surgeons at M-LASIK Laser Center, Bangalore. He completed his Masters Degree in Ophthalmology from Rajasthan University, Jaipur and later established a successful eye hospital in Bangalore. Also, he was instrumental in the establishment of Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain Hospital, Bangalore. Amongst his many tasks, he has been a member of the Medical Advisory Board and Honorary Medical Director, Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain Netralaya. His specialization in Phaco, Small Incision Cataract Surgery, Refractive Surgery and Squint Surgery has spurred him to a record 50,000 plus eye surgeries. Project Drishti (a unit of the Smt. Jivibai Genmalji Solanki Charitable Trust) that he set up in 2001 is a community initiative providing comprehensive eye care services to under-privileged sections of the society. 10,000 plus free eye camps and 52,000 plus free eye surgeries have been performed through the path-breaking venture. Amongst his litany of associations, Dr. Solanki is a member of the Indian Medical Association, Karnataka Ophthalmic Society, Rajasthan Ophthalmic Society, Eye Bank Association of India, and Honorary Member of both the Rotary Club of Bangalore Brigades and Lions Club of Bangalore East. Dr. Solanki has been awarded the prestigious Karnataka Rajyotsava Award, the highest state award for public service.
